Current Unit of Study: Force and Motion
Students will learn to:
- describe what happens when two forces act on an object in the same or opposing directions
- describe how objects tend to resist a change in motion
- describe conversions between potential and kinetic energy
- describe how constant motion is the result of balanced (zero net) forces
- describe how changes in the motion of objects are caused by a non-zero net (unbalanced) force
- design an experiment to test a hypothesis, collect and record data, interpret data, and draw conclusions
- and relate the size of change in motion to the strength of unbalanced forces and the mass of the object.
